Our COVID-19 Safety Precautions
To Our Valued Patients,
We are happy to announce that Corvallis Dental Group is now open for comprehensive dental care. At your next appointment, you will notice a few new protocols we have made to ensure the safety of our patients and team. Your health is our number one priority. We’d like to take this opportunity to inform you of these new precautions and to help better prepare you for your next visit with us. We look forward to seeing you and doing so safely!
Patient Screening
We are asking each patient to answer a detailed wellness questionnaire when scheduling and arriving for their appointment. This is to verify that anyone who enters our practice is not experiencing any symptoms of illness and has not been recently exposed to COVID-19 to the best of their knowledge. Our team is screened as well before they arrive to treat you. All patients and staff will have their temperature checked before they are allowed to enter the office. We ask our patients to follow up 48 hours after their appointment if they have developed any COVID-19 symptoms.
Social Distancing
In addition to limiting the number of patients that will be in our office at any given time, we will also be practicing social distancing. To accomplish this we ask patients to stay six feet away from each other whenever possible. When you arrive for your appointment, please wear a face mask or covering. If you do not have one, we will happily provide one for you. Our waiting lobby is closed at this time. When you arrive for your appointment, please call our front desk at 541-754-6116 and someone will be out shortly to get you. We are also asking that patients refrain from bringing anyone with them who does not have an appointment, with the exception of a parent/guardian accompanying children or caregivers helping someone who needs assistance.
ENHANCED INFECTION CONTROL METHODS
Our standards for sterilization and infection control have always been high, but we have implemented further methods to keep our team and patients safe. In addition to clinic areas we will be routinely disinfecting high traffic areas such as the lobby, front desk, and bathrooms. During this time, amenities like magazines, toys, and complimentary beverages have been removed from our lobby. We have also placed partitions at the front desk and are reducing paperwork to minimize cross contamination. Patients will be asked to wash their hands prior to being seated.
ENHANCED PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
We have acquired all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) to treat you safely. These items include but are not limited to: gowns, face shields, gloves, surgical masks, and fit-tested NIOSH-certified N95 respirators.
Reducing Aerosols
We are proactively reducing procedures that may create aerosols during treatment. For those that are required, we have implemented a few new practices to minimize the number of airborne particles that are released during your visit. Some of these include asking patients to swish with a diluted hydrogen peroxide mouth rinse before we begin treatment, which is a safe way to reduce the number of viral particles that may be present in the mouth. We will also be using unique high-volume evacuation techniques and we have installed HEPA 13 air filtration devices in our office that will continually filter the air in our office.
If you have any questions about our new safety precautions, please do not hesitate to reach out to our team for clarification. We are excited to be offering routine dental services once again, and we appreciate your understanding during this time. We’ll see you soon!
