Tips to Keep Your Teeth Stain-Free

We’re going to bet that you’d rather not have a bunch of stains on your teeth marring their appearance! Fortunately, there are steps you can take to help keep your teeth stain-free so you can enjoy picture-perfect smile.

  1. Limit Stain-Causing Foods & Beverages
  2. You don’t have to change your whole diet to keep your teeth white, but you should be more aware of which foods and beverages are known to leave stains. That way, you can take extra care to limit your intake or rinse your mouth with water afterward. For example, tomato sauce, berries, balsamic vinegar, coffee, tea, and red wine can often cause stains. With these beverages, you can use a straw to reduce the liquid’s contact with your teeth. But whenever possible, simply drink water instead.

  3. Keep Away from Tobacco
  4. If you use tobacco, it’s going to be difficult to maintain a white smile. Whether you smoke or chew it, tobacco can leave some pretty serious stains on your teeth and it reduces your body’s ability to fight off oral infections. Quitting tobacco will drastically improve the appearance of your smile, the health of your mouth, and your overall body wellness!

  5. Brush & Floss Every Day
  6. It may seem like a no-brainer but this tip is a big one. Brushing and flossing regularly is a great way to avoid stains from forming on your teeth. By maintaining superb oral hygiene, you can prevent plaque and tartar from building up and yellowing your teeth. If you don’t do so already, consider adding some alcohol-free antibacterial mouthwash to your normal routine as an extra safeguard.
